Goddamn horse fucking played rocket launcher with me today. He was the launch pad and I was the rocket - if any one of four things had gone differently, I'd probably stayed on, but I got off balance on the third buck (think rodeo horse head down, heals kicking out) and went over his shoulder. I'm fine, just have the bruises and the grass stains to go with it. (Landed on my left leg/both knees/but with a bruise/scrap that resembles a saddle horn on my stomach.)
And my ankle hurts.
We're trying to get the horse up to rodeo condition, so I was going to run him today...yeah he exploded on me - was already sitting for a run, not a buck so I was forward in the saddle instead of deep, ankle turned on me at some point, and I couldn't get his head back up. Once my center of gravity shifted over his shoulder, I was humped.
Those of you laughing, I'd like to see you try to stick it out. I'm a damn good rider and there was no way I was staying on.
